Unit 3: Starting a collective

To be very honest, I do not think the future of animation is looking good for us. The industry is extremely competitive and dry, not to mention the threat of AI looming over us. That’s why I want to focus on things that I can control, like starting a collective with people I work well with. Eva, Fabian, and I have already completed three films together within the span of two years. Our first step would be to get arts funding for equipment, software, and a studio space for us to work. We look up to other self-made companies like Moth Studios and Kong Studios. Though I’m aware most of the income would be from clients and commercial work, I still think we could thrive in that setting – creativity comes from constraint.
